ANSI / PRCA American National Standard
The ANSI/PRCA 1.0-.3-2014 American National Safety Standards are the most comprehensive standards for our industry. They alone cover both employee and patron safety requirements. They are harmonized with OSHA regulations and with the consensus safety strength requirements of the majority of ANSI Accredited Standard Developers. They follow US and Canadian requirements, not the lower European standards requirements which do not meet the US/CA requirements. If you follow the ANSI/PRCA requirements you will meet the US/CA requirements and exceed the European requirements - the best of both worlds.
These safety standards include requirements for equipment manufacturers, requirements for operators, builders, inspectors, guides and facilitators and a standardized National Training Scheme that allows for employers to train and certify their own staff and make sure that the staff training addresses the same issues everybody is training to.

The PRCA Standards have undergone three open public reviews; one unofficial review and two official reviews following the PRCA ANSI approved procedures. Note: The PRCA is the first active ANSI Accredited Standards Developer for the Challenge Course, Canopy Zipline tours, and Aerial Adventure Parks industry. The PRCA was also the first association to submit a candidate standard to ANSI and have it designated as the first American National Safety Standard for the industry.
